April: the smile of Mother Earth
Bertold, who is usually asleep by this time of night, jogged with a smile between his little fangs towards my house.
- Good morning BoriBari! Wake up! Today is a very happy day. Can you hear the leaves rustling happily? The grass is greener, the breeze is laughing and the sun is shining brighter today.
- Yes, the birds are singing louder too. This can only be Mother Earth, who cares lovingly for all living creatures on earth. When she smiles, everyone is happy.
- Dear Mother Earth! What can we do to keep you smiling?" asked Bertold and I, brushing our faces against the fresh, fragrant earth.
- Tonight I had a wonderful dream. Everywhere I looked, people were doing good things." said Mother Earth, smiling.
- I saw that saplings are planted where trees have been cut down, that the water in the rivers is clean because no one throws rubbish in.
I've seen a little boy proudly show his parents that he turns off the tap and stops the water from running while brushing his teeth and hands. Wherever he goes, he carries his drink in a canteen so he doesn't need a plastic bottle, and that makes him happy.
I have seen young and old alike sorting their rubbish, using super canvas bags instead of plastic. Straws, spoons, forks, knives, cups and plates are not made from them either, and food goes into lunch boxes instead of plastic bags.
I've seen them turn off the lights so they don't burn unnecessarily, and they often prefer to walk, which is healthier for their bodies.
I have seen that people treat animals well, leaving them a home where they can live happily.
There are many, many other things that protect my body and I am also happy when you tell my dream to the children.
- How easy it is to please Mother Earth and make everyone smile! I'll draw what I think about it and show it to everyone. - I said enthusiastically.
- I'll help too, I've got lots of ideas," Bertold joined in.
